One small part of the mud being slung at Donald Trump is that he dodged the draft during the Viet Nam War.
As best I recall, most young men back in those days were not happy with the prospect of being drafted and many, both left and right, did what they could to get deferred. So I don’t consider that a black mark against anyone.
In fact, I was a draft-dodger.
I beat the draft by enlisting in the Army for three years.
Was your father a local macher and no doubt friends/business associate with some guys on the draft board? Did he pay a friendly doctor to fake something about a bone spur in your heel? This is likely what happened with Trump. Did you get elected to anything based in part about saying the military needs a lot more money and with a lot of flag waving populist pro cops and military and wars talk? A lot of calling other people traitors?
ReplyDeleteI understand that later Trump forgot which foot his miraculously self curing bone spur was. Anyway if it was a real problem it could be easily cured with simple surgery commonly available at the time, but it is not something that goes away on its own.
